Ed’s Day Jobs

First and foremost, Ed is the director of Maya Exploration Center, a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to research and education about ancient civilizations of the Americas. Yes, when we started almost 20 years ago we were all just Maya archaeologists. We’ve since expanded our scope, but have yet to decide upon a better name for the non-profit. And the Maya are still our favorite. 🙂

Looking towards the future and his interest in ancient cultures everywhere, Ed created a private LLC named Ancient Explorations. He offers multiple public education tours through it each year, his iPhone apps are featured there, and now it’s the roof over this latest endeavor, ArchaeoEd.

Ed is also the author of an annual Maya wall calendar business simply called Mayan Calendar, LLC. Every year Ed does the math, collects the photos through a fun annual photo contest, and hands it off to his friend Ted at Worx Media to make it look pretty. The result is the Mayan Calendar, with Maya Glyphs for Modern Dates. The 2024 Mayan Calendar is now on sale through its website, which also features a bunch of information regarding the ancient Maya calendar written up by Ed himself.

Last but certainly not least, Ed works with Wondrium making video lecture series. He’s got 104 lectures/shows with them so far and looks forward to making more. Click on this link below and get a free two-week trial to the Wondrium.
